Tahoe Interior Design: Custom Window Coverings and Bedding

Custom window coverings and bedding are a nice way to finish an interior. At Aspen Leaf Interiors, we create a variety of window treatments for our clients that compliment their space as well as the function needed. Roller and roman shades add privacy and room darkening capabilities in areas such as bedrooms or media rooms. We also implement the use of draperies over windows and sliding glass doors. Draperies not only add texture to a space but also warmth and the illusion of taller ceilings. The custom capabilities with draperies are significant with the use of hardware and fabrics that compliment the homes furnishings. The style of draperies can also be customized to encompass a traditional or contemporary style. Grommets in various sizes and finishes can be the finishing touch of a contemporary treatment while pleats add fullness and encompass a traditional vision. Valance and valance boxes when used finish the overall look of draperies and shades. Valances can be constructed of the same material as the treatment or something different such as leather or wood. The use of wood valances creates the perfect finishing touch to your rustic environment.

We enjoy designing custom bedding collections for our clients to create a truly unique space. The fabrics used for such bedding can be pulled from various fabrics used throughout the room or complimentary patterns and textures. Duvets and coverlets can be as simple as a solid fabric or have bands of fabric stitched to create stripes. We like to mix various patterns and textures to create a cohesive collection that adds warmth and makes the space inviting. Accent pillows are also incorporated within the designs to add further interest.

We recently designed bedding for a clients home in Tahoe to complete her interior design project that included tucked coverlets with a plush folded duvet at the end of each bed finished with euro and accent pillows. The addition of such fabrics and elements was the final detail to finish such a fabulous mountain retreat.

Aspen Leaf Interiors and BIM Technology

Aspen Leaf Interiors has recently purchased Chief Architect Software to assist in planning, presentation and production of documentation for our projects. We have trained in the use of this software to assist our clients and contractors with information to communicate our ideas and designs to the different trades.

The program allows us to draw in 2D and 3D simultaneously and updates both versions at same time.  Elevations and section of buildings and rooms can be created quickly and precisely. A rendering of a room or entire house can be created with applied finishes, colors, textures and patterns as well as ceilings, openings, furniture and lighting. A camera can also tour the house and produce a video of the environment before construction starts.

Our goal is to offer the client interested in Interior Design in Lake Tahoe, Truckee and surrounding areas a unique experience using BIM Technology to aid our presentations and designs.

Aspen Leaf lakefront home featured in Reno Magazine

Thank you Reno Magazine for this great article on a lakefront Tahoe home designed by Aspen Leaf Interiors, built by Loverde Builders.

The master bath in this home was also recognized last year by Kitchen + Bath Business Magazine.

Excerpt:
“When a home is situated on shoreline within mere footsteps of North America’s largest alpine lake, a potential design danger looms: The impact of the home’s interior may be lost to the majesty of the outside view.  ‘But what we strived to accomplish is the perfect complement to Lake Tahoe,’ says Marcio Decker, lead decorator for the home located on Tahoe’s West Shore in Tahoe City.  Decker and his partner, Betty Scott, both of Aspen Leaf Interiors, sought to balance the stunning view with a warm and welcoming ambiance.”

Aspen Leaf Interiors design mentioned in downtown Reno blog

…”On cue, the sun beginning to peak out of the rain clouds.  Downtown Reno looked renewed from the 21st floor of The Montage, with a back drop of mountain ranges framing the view.  And what a view it is.  To really understand the level of sophisticated, functional design at The Montage, take a few moments to review photos of some of the interiors designed by the talented team at Aspen Leaf Interiors.”

Aspen Leaf Interiors Continues Montage Makeover

Check out the great write up by Mike Van H, Downtown Reno Makeover, on our design work in the Montage!  Thanks Mike!

” What’s most impressive about Marcio and Betty’s interior designs is that they vary wildly from unit to unit within the Montage, building the spaces out to fit the owners’ personalities. I had a chance to walk through two of these residences recently, and the interiors are truly stunning, complementing both the Montage as a whole and the owners themselves. Even though the Craftsman and arts and crafts Bungalow movments of the early 1900′s is more my style of interior decor, I was taken back by how beautifully the interiors matched both the building, and the owners simultaneously. Now that’s a good designer.”

Reno HOME Magazine features Aspen Leaf design of downtown condo

One of our favorite projects in 2008 was designing this vacation home for Vinnie Papa and Scott Opperman, two clients-turned-friends who we were first introduced to in 2006, when they decided to purchase a unit in The Montage Reno.  It was so fun to work with them and play with all sorts of colors, textures, and materials.  Mixtures of colorful paint, exotic glass tile, frosted glass panels, woven sliding track panels, decorative fabric accents, and a spa-like bathroom of marble and glass make this condo unique and invigorating.  The space, much like the personalities of its owners, has a warm and inviting feel, enticing just about anyone in for a delicious glass of wine!
