Friday night, Aspen Leaf Interiors received remodel of the year at the annual Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe dinner and awards ceremony.

Remodel of the Year
The award was won for a remodel project completed with Griggs Custom Homes in the Northstar Lake Tahoe community.

Remodel of the Year Living Room
The remodel was a 1970’s dated home in the Northstar Lake Tahoe area. We recently posted a blog about the transformation that took place at this 1970’s ski house and are honored to receive Remodel of the Year!

Remodel of the Year Master Bedroom
This holiday season, cheery faces gathered for a preview of our Holiday Table 2011, a tradition of Aspen Leaf Interiors for the past several years, and we were joined by realtors, Montage residents, a few editors of local magazines and newspapers.

The evening was also highlighted by the display of Decker acrylic on canvas original paintings following his galllery opening during Art Basel in Miami Beach 2011.

Our guests sampled delicious food from Sup and had wonderful wine from West Street Wine Bar mingling with influential personalities of our community. The success of the evening was slated by the interest of the public in the Montage community, spurring new interests for Aspen Leaf Interiors and Decker Fine Arts, which included the sale of two paintings to attendees.

We wish you all a Happy Holiday Season and we would be happy to schedule private showings of the Holiday Table and Decker’s paintings display at any time by appointment. Please call Marcio Decker at 775-342-3477 to discuss art or design. Cheers!
Congratulations to Marcio Decker for receiving the 2011 Supplier/Vendor of the Year award at the annual Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe dinner and awards ceremony.

When it comes to bold choices for wall colors, vivid red is on the far end of the risk spectrum. Used in the right dosage, the drama payoffs can be great — but care must be taken to avoid an overwhelming “red rum” ambiance. We’ve chosen some of the best strategies for red rooms …

Custom window coverings and bedding are a nice way to finish an interior. At Aspen Leaf Interiors, we create a variety of window treatments for our clients that compliment their space as well as the function needed. Roller and roman shades add privacy and room darkening capabilities in areas such as bedrooms or media rooms. We also implement the use of draperies over windows and sliding glass doors. Draperies not only add texture to a space but also warmth and the illusion of taller ceilings. The custom capabilities with draperies are significant with the use of hardware and fabrics that compliment the homes furnishings. The style of draperies can also be customized to encompass a traditional or contemporary style. Grommets in various sizes and finishes can be the finishing touch of a contemporary treatment while pleats add fullness and encompass a traditional vision. Valance and valance boxes when used finish the overall look of draperies and shades. Valances can be constructed of the same material as the treatment or something different such as leather or wood. The use of wood valances creates the perfect finishing touch to your rustic environment.
We enjoy designing custom bedding collections for our clients to create a truly unique space. The fabrics used for such bedding can be pulled from various fabrics used throughout the room or complimentary patterns and textures. Duvets and coverlets can be as simple as a solid fabric or have bands of fabric stitched to create stripes. We like to mix various patterns and textures to create a cohesive collection that adds warmth and makes the space inviting. Accent pillows are also incorporated within the designs to add further interest.

We recently designed bedding for a clients home in Tahoe to complete her interior design project that included tucked coverlets with a plush folded duvet at the end of each bed finished with euro and accent pillows. The addition of such fabrics and elements was the final detail to finish such a fabulous mountain retreat.
Aspen Leaf Interiors has recently purchased Chief Architect Software to assist in planning, presentation and production of documentation for our projects. We have trained in the use of this software to assist our clients and contractors with information to communicate our ideas and designs to the different trades.
The program allows us to draw in 2D and 3D simultaneously and updates both versions at same time. Elevations and section of buildings and rooms can be created quickly and precisely. A rendering of a room or entire house can be created with applied finishes, colors, textures and patterns as well as ceilings, openings, furniture and lighting. A camera can also tour the house and produce a video of the environment before construction starts.
Our goal is to offer the client interested in Interior Design in Lake Tahoe, Truckee and surrounding areas a unique experience using BIM Technology to aid our presentations and designs.

Interior Designer Olivia Osborne, graduate of Chico State Interior Design Program in 2008, has chosen to settle in the Lake Tahoe area and will be designing alongside Marcio Decker and Betty Scott as our business continues to see tremendous growth! She brings a rich background of experience, motivated by colors and textures, she excels at creating cohesive, inviting interiors in Truckee and Lake Tahoe. Olivia enjoys designing a wide range of styles in the Truckee-Tahoe area, including mountain contemporary, traditional mountain lodge, and sophisticated chic. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to many more award winning designs! Olivia can be reached at olivia@AspenLeafInteriors.com.
Thank you Reno Magazine for this great article on a lakefront Tahoe home designed by Aspen Leaf Interiors, built by Loverde Builders.
The master bath in this home was also recognized last year by Kitchen + Bath Business Magazine.
Excerpt:
“When a home is situated on shoreline within mere footsteps of North America’s largest alpine lake, a potential design danger looms: The impact of the home’s interior may be lost to the majesty of the outside view. ‘But what we strived to accomplish is the perfect complement to Lake Tahoe,’ says Marcio Decker, lead decorator for the home located on Tahoe’s West Shore in Tahoe City. Decker and his partner, Betty Scott, both of Aspen Leaf Interiors, sought to balance the stunning view with a warm and welcoming ambiance.”
