When a home is situated on shoreline within mere footsteps of North America’s largest alpine lake, a potential design danger looms: The impact of the home’s interior may be lost to the majesty of the outside view. “But what we strived to accomplish is the perfect complement to Lake Tahoe,” says Marcio Decker, lead decorator for the home located on Tahoe’s West Shore in Tahoe City. “Designers Betty Scott and Marcio Decker, owner of Reno’s Aspen Leaf Interiors, approached the design of their clients’ one-bedroom-plus-den residence in the Montage as a composer would a piece of music.
“Designer Marcio Decker of Home Concepts and Aspen Leaf Interiors got an enviable assignment: to design a new 8,000 square foot home in Reno, Nevada. It would be inspired by a French chateau and would use the finest custom cabinetry and most luxurious materials. For the master suite, the homeowners asked for a first-floor retreat in its own wing, including a bedroom with a fireplace, a walk-in closet and an oversized bathroom with a sauna, his-and-hers vanities, a walk-in shower/steam room and a sybaritic air tub for two, the latter amenitities with big windows to enjoy the view.”
Marcio’s artwork will be featured in an auction at Milk Gallery located at 450 West 15th Street, New York, NY on May 19, 2010. His piece will be alongside artwork by Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, and Andy Warhol. The annual auction will benefit the non-profit Stoked mentoring program.
